Tips Keep Your Children Safe While Riding Bikes
Hi everyone, most parents spend time protecting their children and teach them safety lessons. We childproof our homes when children are young, teach them to cross the street and we do travel in car seats. However, once it is ready for a bike ride, not many parents use the same effort to protect their children by bike. Here are some tips on how to keep their children safe while riding their bikes!
A total of 130 children die each year from bicycle accidents, but there are a total of 270,000 children injured in bike. This is documented 270,000 injuries in the emergency room and nearly 50% of these visits are due to trauma to the brain.
Less than 25% of children under 14 years old actually carry while driving. If each child wore a helmet, a brain trauma would be reduced by almost 90%. Many cities require children under 16 to wear helmets, but I think respect is not good enough.
Wearing a helmet will help, but make sure the correct size is important. If the helmet is not the right size, the risk of head injury is almost double that if your child is properly installed.
If your child has an accident and damaged the hull, be sure to replace the helmet. If there is damage to the hull for any reason, must be replaced as well. To help influence your child should always wear a helmet. The next important factor to keep their children safe on the bike is a good bike maintenance. The proper size can be measured by your child stand next to the bike. If one or two inches between the child and the top bar, which is the right size bike. The seat should be at a comfortable level, where the knees are slightly bent at the end point. Children need to know your eyes open for potholes and unpaved roads. If you can not ride on the sidewalk, which would direct traffic and use hand signals.
Bicycles can be a lot of fun for children. This policy can really help keep your kids safe while they enjoy it!
